Todd County DFL scholarship essay contest announced

The Todd County DFL announces a $500 Scholarship Contest for any junior or senior high school student who attends a school in Todd County or residing in Todd County.  All entries will be posted on the website:  http://www.toddcountydfl.org.  The winning entry will be sent to all Todd County Newspapers for publication.  Entries will be accepted until October 21, 2016.  All submissions must be delivered electronically to toddcountydfl@gmail.com.  

The rules for the essay are as follows:

o The essay addresses the importance of young people becoming involved in the political process.

o The importance of the elections held during a presidential year.

o The importance of the elections held during a non-presidential year.

o The importance of city, county and state elections.

o The essay MAY NOT endorse nor demean any candidate or party.

o The paper must be at least two pages in length, double spaced, no longer than four pages in length double-spaced and have a cover page with the student’s name, high school, residence and email addresses. 

The League of Women Voters will announce winner(s) on November 1.
