Thriving Communities Initiative meeting

Eighteen people attended the first Thriving Communities Initiative informational meeting held Jan. 7. A second meeting will be held this evening, Thursday, Jan. 14, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Staples City Hall to go over the Thriving Communities process. Dan Frank of the Initiative Foundation said there are several ways to get involved in the program, which is expected to be implemented in the community over the next four months. He said a core group will help develop a local vision for Staples, they will hold a large community meeting to get input and task forces will be formed to work on projects that come out of the vision. Frank said the project will focus on business growth, workforce and quality of life issues in Staples.
