The Staples-Motley girls basketball team struggled to contain two of the top teams in the conference, ending up with a 93-31 loss at Pequot Lakes on Jan. 25 and a 78-44 loss against Crosby-Ironton on Jan. 28.
The Staples-Motley boys basketball team suffered a scoring drought in the first half against Pequot Lakes, only scoring 10 points. They were better in the second half but it wasn’t enough as they ended up with a 67-46 loss on Jan. 27.
