ordinance No. 510
increasing the salaries of council members and mayor
THE CITY OF STAPLES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Sec. 12.3.01 (Subd. a and Subd. b) of the City Code are hereby amended by deleting Subd. a and Subd. b in their entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
Subd. a Mayor
The salary for the Mayor shall be $370 per month plus $25 for each special or adjourned meeting attended.
Subd. b. Council Members
The salary for each Council Member shall be $315 per month plus $25 for each special or adjourned meeting attended.
A new Subd. g. is added as follows:
Subd. g. Attendance Policy
The Mayor and Council Members will be permitted to be absent for a maximum of four meetings per fiscal year without salary reduction. Any absences in excess of four meetings will result in a prorated reduction of salary for the month in which the absence occurred.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and publication in accordance with law, and after the next succeeding municipal election and will take effect on January 1, 2017.

Becker TOWNSHIP monthly MEETING
The Becker Township monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. along with the Board of Canvass meeting. There will be no meeting on November 8 due to elections.
Becker Township is a mail balloting township. Non registered voters can register and vote at the Walker courthouse or the Pillager City Hall on November 8. Contact the Auditor Treasure’s office at 218-547-7260 with any questions.

VILLARD TOWNSHIP GENERAL ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that a General Election will be held in the Election Precincts of Todd County Including: Villard Township at Township Hall in Philbrook, 31337 County 28, on Tuesday, the Eighth (8th) day of November, 2016 at which time the polls will be open from the hours of 7:00 o’clock a.m. to the hour of eight (8) o’clock p.m. Absentee Ballots can be acquired by calling the Todd County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office at 320-732-4471.
On the ballot will also be the Villard Township Election of one (1) Town Supervisor and one (1) Clerk for four (4) year terms.
Board of Canvass will meet on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Eastwood Inn in Motley, followed by the regular November Township Board meeting. Note date change from 2016 posted calendar.
Note that Villard Township Meetings on the following dates will be held at the Eastwood Inn in Motley: Tuesdays, November 15, 2016; December 13, 2016; January 10, 2017; February 14, 2017; March 14, 2017; April 11, 2017 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
