WADENA COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INTENT TO ADOPT THE WADENA COUNTY

SOLID WASTE DESIGNATION ORDINANCE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statute 375.51 Subdivision 2, that the Wadena County Board of Commissioners intends to adopt the “Wadena County Solid Waste Designation Ordinance”. The proposed ordinance will be considered at a meeting of the Wadena County Board of Commissioners in the City of Wadena Council Chambers at 222 2nd Street SE, Wadena Minnesota, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.

The proposed ordinance is regulated and authorized by Minnesota Statutes 115A.80 through 115A.893.

This public hearing is being conducted to conform with the process outline in Minnesota Statutes 115A.85 and 115A.86

The purpose of the proposed ordinance is regulating the transportation and delivery of Solid Waste generated within Wadena County; defining the geographic area and the types and quantities of Solid Waste subject to designation; specifying the points of delivery of the Designated Waste; requiring that Designated Waste be delivered to Designated Facilities; excepting from the ordinance certain waste materials; and stating additional regulations governing Haulers; and other matters.

The proposed Wadena County Solid Waste Designation Ordinance, as well as a letter from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency noting their approval of the proposed ordinance are available on the Wadena County website at http://www.co.wadena.mn.us/152lSolid-Waste and at either the Wadena County Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 10542 170th Street, Wadena, MN or the Wadena County Auditor’s Office, located at 415 Jefferson Street, Wadena, MN.

All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing or submit written testimony prior to the hearing date. Written testimony should be submitted to the County Coordinator’s office, 415 Jefferson Street, Wadena, MN 56482. LAKE SHAMINEAU LAKE IMPROVEMENT DISRICT (LSLID) OUTLET PETITION -

INFORMATIONAL MEETING NOTIFICATION

 

A Public Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday June 1, 2021, at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Todd County Expo Building located at the Todd County Fairgrounds, 203 9th St. NE, Long Prairie, MN  56347. 

A Petition has been submitted by the LSLID requesting to use County Ditch 41 as an outlet for their High-Water Outlet Project. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding the petition and the project, and to address any questions landowners may have. All interested landowners are welcome and encouraged to attend this Informational Meeting. Commissioners Becker, Erickson, Neumann, Kneisl, Kircher, Attorney Kurt Deter and CDI Nancy Uhlenkamp will be in attendance for Todd County. The LSLID representatives, Attorney, and Engineer will be in attendance to present their project. Due to COVID 19, landowners can join the meeting in the following ways:

In person at the Todd County Expo Building, 203 9th St. NE, Long Prairie, MN  56347 - You must RSVP by noon on May 28 so we can plan for seating - call 320-533-4651, leave message with names and number attending.
