Becker Township Notice of Candidate Filing Dates
The following township offices will be voted for at the State General Election to be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Candidates may begin filing for these offices on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 through Tuesday, August 16, 2022. You may call Mary Fitcher @ 218-352-6498 for an appointment OR the office of the clerk will be open Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. located at 10999 75th Ave. SW, Motley, MN 56466. Candidates must complete an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a $2.00 filing fee at the time of filing.
Filings will be accepted during the filing period for the following offices to be elected on November 8, 2022:
•One (1) Treasurer - four (4) year term
•One (1) Supervisors - four (4) year term (seat 1)
•One (1) Supervisors - four (4) year term (seat 3).

VILLARD Township BOARD MEETING DATE CHANGE
The Villard Town Board will hold its August 2022 monthly meeting on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at it’s regular scheduled time of 7 p.m. due to the August 9 Primary Elections.
The Town Board Meeting will be held at the Town Hall in Philbrook, MN.

DISTRICT BOARD MEMBERS
Notice is hereby given, that the Regular Election of the United Hospital District, Staples, Minnesota, will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 to elect members to serve on the District Board of Directors.
Any person desiring to be a candidate for member of the District Board shall file with the clerk of the city or the township in which he resides, an application to be placed on the ballot as a candidate for election as a member representing such city or township that is included in the Hospital District.
Filing opens Tuesday, August 2, 2022 and closes Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
Members will be elected as follows: The election of one member of District Board for a term expiring December 31, 2026 representing and from each of the following cities and townships:

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by chair B. Winkels with M. Freeman, L. Anderson, B. Lund, Winkels and J. Reeck present (comprising a quorum). Brad Anderson was absent. Also attending: Supt. Tappe, Business Manager Lego, Principals Johnson and Ferdon, Jodie Zesbaugh representing Ehlers, Jordan Pangrac representing ICS, several community members and staff, Staples World Managing Editor Anderson and Recording Secretary Walz. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Motion by Lund, seconded by L. Anderson, to add items #16, #17 and #18 to the consent agenda. MC
Motion by Freeman, seconded by Reeck, to adopt the agenda. MC

Chair Winkels recognized the public and thanked everyone for attending.

Approve the Resolution to Accept Grants and In-Kind Donations
Motion by Freeman, seconded by L. Anderson to accept the In-Kind donations in the amount of $100 and Grants in the amount of $2,000. MC

Motion by Lund, seconded by L. Anderson to approve the FY 2022 Revised Budget and the FY 2023 Original Budget. MC
Motion by Reeck, seconded by Winkels to award the Dairy Bid to Kemps for the 2022-23 School Year. MC
Motion by Winkels, seconded by Lund to approve the Brady Martz for School District Auditor Services; FY 2022 and 2023. MC
Motion by Winkels, seconded by Lund to approve the “Resolution to Award Sale of General Obligation Facilities Maintenance and Capital Facilities Bonds, Series 2022A”. Following a Roll Call vote Freeman, Winkels, L. Anderson, Reeck and Lund voted in favor, B. Anderson was absent. MC
Motion by Freeman, seconded by Reeck to approve the resolution designating Medsurety LLC and Matrix Trust as health reimbursement and arrangement trustee effective October 1, 2022. Following a Roll Call vote Reeck, L. Anderson, Lund, Freeman and Winkels voted in favor, B. Anderson was absent. MC
Curriculum
The 2021-22 QCOMP Annual Report was reviewed.
Motion by Winkels, seconded by Freeman , to nominate L. Anderson as the 2022-23 Q-COMP Oversight Committee Rep. MC
2022-2023 Activities Handbook and Coaches Handbook available for Board review
Motion by Freeman, seconded by Winkels to approve the 22-23 Local Literacy Plan. MC
Facilities
ICS and JLG updated the board on the School Improvement Plan, including progress on the elementary construction project, updated design for the elementary gymnasium addition and M/HS wellness addition, and projected bid schedule for both additions and IAQ projects that will break ground spring of 2023.

Motion by Winkels, seconded by L. Anderson to approve the policy committee recommendation that paragraph B of policy #103 Complaints - Students, Employees, Parents, Other persons, not be removed per communication with MSBA. MC
Motion by Winkels, seconded by Reeck to approve updates to the 2022-2023 School District Chromebook Usage Policy. MC
Motion by Freeman, seconded by L. Anderson to approve 2022-23 calendar update to add a teacher in-service date on September 6, 2022. MC
Reports
Principals Ferdon and Johnson gave updates on Summer Enrichment programming in their buildings.
Superintendent Tappe shared some data from staff exit interviews, as well as the growth in early education programs.
Activities Director Lee shared the trap team’s success in the state tournament and the Tour of MN Bike Tour’s stop at the Middle/High School.
