PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE APPLICATION FOR 

A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT

 

NOTICE is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Staples will hold a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Staples City Hall, 122 6th St NE, to consider the application for a Conditional Use Permit to exceed the maximum size for a private detached garage at 904 Park Ave NE. 

A Conditional Use Permit is required for construction of a private detached garage larger than 800 square feet.  

All persons interested are invited to attend this hearing and be heard on this matter.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 2170 shall begin on July 31, 2018 and shall close at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on August 14, 2018.

The general election shall be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. At that election, three (3) members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years each.

Call to Order

The Todd County Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioner’s Board Room in the City of Long Prairie, MN on the 3rd day of July, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Neumann. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. All Commissioners were present.

Approval of Agenda

On motion by Erickson and seconded by Kneisl, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote. To approve the agenda as presented.

Consent Agenda

On motion by Kircher and seconded by Becker, the following motion and resolution were introduced and adopted by unanimous vote:

To approve the Commissioner’s Meeting Minutes for June 19, 2018 as presented.

EXCLUDED BINGO 

PERMIT - TODD 

COUNTY COUNCIL 

ON AGING

WHEREAS, the Todd County Board of Commissioners are establishing their approval for an Excluded Bingo Permit for the Todd County Council On Aging through this resolution;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Todd County Board of Commissioners approve a one day Excluded Bingo Permit for the Todd County Council On Aging to hold bingo at the Clarissa Ballroom in Eagle Valley Township at the address 19281 Kotter Road, Clarissa, MN on October 28, 2018.

On motion by Becker and seconded by Kneisl, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve the attached Lease Agreement between the Todd County Ag Society and Todd County Board of Commissioners to the Todd County Historical Society for the time period of July 3, 2018 through July 3, 2020.

On motion by Kircher and seconded by Kneisl, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To appoint Gary W. Barber to the Sauk River Watershed District Board of Managers for a three year term beginning July 3, 2018.

On motion by Kneisl and seconded by Erickson, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve Todd County’s participation in JPA to Create Counties Providing Technology.

Public Works

On motion by Becker and seconded by Kneisl, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve MCIT taking possession of Unit #73 for $7,630.75 and approve the purchase of a replacement truck from Ranger Chevrolet for $27,000 - $29,000 (net cost of $20,000 - $22,000).

Sheriff’s Office

On motion by Kircher and seconded by Erickson, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To allow the Todd County Sheriff’s Office to upgrade to NIBRS.

Todd SWCD

On motion by Kneisl and seconded by Becker, the following motion was introduced and adopted by unanimous vote: To approve signing the letter of appreciation for partnership to surrounding counties Veterans Officers.
