Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Assessment
For Non-Payment
of Utilities
Notice is hereby given that the Staples City Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 122 6th St NE to consider and possibly adopt the proposed assessments for non-payment of utilities against the following properties.

The proposed assessment roll is on file for public inspection at the city clerk’s office. Written or oral objections will be considered at the meeting.
Owners have the right to prepay the entire assessment to the City Clerk without an interest charge within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment. However, if the assessment is not prepaid, the assessment principal will be assessed in one installment plus interest at a rate of 6% per annum, with payment due in 2019 with real estate taxes.
An owner may appeal an assessment to district court pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 429.081 by serving notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or City Clerk of the city within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the district court within ten days after service upon the Mayor or City Clerk; however, no appeal may be taken as to the amount of any individual assessment, unless a written objection signed by the affected property owner is filed with the City Clerk prior to or at the assessment hearing.

2019 to 2023 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
The City of Staples will hold a public hearing on August 14, 2018 at 7:05 p.m. at City Hall, 122 6th St NE to present and accept comments on the 2019 to 2023 Capital Improvement Plan. A copy of the draft is available at City Hall, 122 6th St NE.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing and provide comments.
