NOTICE
City of staples public hearing to consider the application for a conditional use permit
NOTICE is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Staples will hold a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Staples City Hall to consider the application of Matthew Craig for a Conditional Use Permit at 209 Cleveland Street SW, legally described as Lots 3 and 4, Block 7, Donovan’s Addition. Mr. Craig proposes to construct a 30 foot by 40 foot (1,200 square feet) storage building in the rear yard of his property.
A Conditional Use Permit is required for a storage building greater than 200 square feet in gross area on residential zoned property.
All persons interested are invited to attend this hearing and be heard on this matter.

Mr. Freese proposes to contruct a 30 foot by 56 foot (1,680 square feet) storage building with a covered porch on the vacant lot west of the alley.
A Conditional Use Permit is required for a storage building greater than 200 square feet in gross area on residential zoned property.
All persons interested are invited to attend this hearing and be heard on this matter.

of filing for the 2016 state general election
Notice is hereby given that a General Election will be held in Todd County on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 for the purpose of electing candidates for the offices listed below. The filing period for the offices of United States Representative, State Senator, State Representative, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and Judge of the District Court begins at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016, and ends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
The filing period for Presidential Elector candidates begins at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and ends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016, for non-major political party candidates and independent candidates. The certification deadline for major political party presidential elector candidates is August 29, 2016.
Note: Filing offices will be closed Monday, May 30, 2016, in observance of Memorial Day.
The place of filing for Federal Offices is the Office of the Secretary of State, State Office Building, Room 180, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155-1299.
The place of filing for State Offices is with the Office of the Secretary of State or with the County Auditor of the County in which the candidate resides.
The filing place for County Offices is with the County Auditor.
Candidates may file in person or by mail, if the filing is received during the filing period. Candidates who will be absent from the state during the filing period and meet the requirements of Minnesota Statutes section 204B.09, subdivision 1a, may arrange to file during the seven days immediately preceding the candidate’s absence from the state.
