It is Ordered and Notice is given that on June 6, 2017 at 1:15 p.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at 221 First Avenue South, Suite 100, Long Prairie, Minnesota, for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Will of the Decedent dated, July 21, 1992, and (“Will”), and for the appointment of Nancy A. Bitz, whose address is 10431 Amigo Trail, Grey Eagle, MN, 56336 as Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an UNSUPERVISED administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper and if no objections are filed or raised, the Personal Representative will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate including the power to do all necessary acts for the Estate.

Notice is also given that (subject to Minnesota Statutes section 524.3-81) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the Personal Representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.

A charitable beneficiary may request notice of the probate proceedings be given to the Attorney General pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 501B.41, subdivsion 5.

Notice is given by means of this legal newspaper that a Public Hearing will be held on Monday May 22, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. It will be held in the Commissioner’s Board Room on the third level of the Historic Courthouse located at 215 1st Ave South, Long Prairie, MN  56347. 

This Public Hearing is regarding: 1) Outlet Petitions that have been submitted by several landowners asking to use CD18 as an outlet for their water.  

2) a Repair Petition that has been submitted to maintain County Ditch 18 located in Iona Township. 

All interested landowners are welcome and encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. NOTICE

EVERGREEN HILL CEMETERY

 

Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples, held its annual meeting Feb. 14, 2017 at the Staples Community Center. Election of officers was held. Elected were: Bob Reeck, President/Treasurer; Marlene Card Reeck, Secretary; Huck Holst, Vice President.

The board chose May 1 to open the cemetery.

New policy signs were posted at the cemetery. Some revisions were needed as the cemetery is taking on a cluttered look. The board made the motion that all shepherd hooks or pedestal style flower pot holders, vases (maximum of two) must be placed next to the grave headstone. NO other items allowed. If families have other items placed by the headstone, the board asks that you please remove them.

Also remember that pets must be on leashes and owners need to pick up after their pets.
