Ronald S. Miller

Ronald (Ron) Spencer Miller, 79, died peacefully on September 25, 2025, at his home in Mission, Texas with his wife of 34 years at his side.

Ron was born March 24, 1946 to Jay and Edith Miller in Staples, MN.

Ron graduated in 1964 from Staples High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and two years in the National Guard,  serving from 1965 to 1971.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Kate. The couple met in 1992 while in the optical business as opticians ABOC. They retired in Staples together, became winter Texans, moving to Mission, TX. Kate loved Staples and following Ron’s death, relocated there in June, 2026, where she enjoys living and is looking forward to many more years.

Kate wanted to honor her husband’s memory in a special way and volunteers at the Staples Veterans Store. The organization has helped fulfill a purpose, while honoring her husband and all the veterans who fought for our country - thank you veterans!

Ron is survived by his wife, Kate; one son, Joel Miller, DDS; one step-daughter, Jennifer Dukek and special, loving caregiver, Rubin Mijo; one sister-in-law, Lorie (James) McLellan and many wonderful friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Heidi (Miller) Quam whom he loved, calling her his little mouse. Now they are together in Heaven.
