Robert Lee
Funeral services for Robert Lee, 95, of Staples will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples.
Robert Charles Lee was born July 26, 1927, to Rudolph and Mary (Erickson) Lee in Grand Forks, ND.
Bob spent his boyhood years between Brainerd and East Grand Forks. He entered the Military Service in 1944, following his junior year of high school. Robert served in World War II in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. He returned from service in 1946 and completed his high school education graduating in 1947.
On Dec. 20, 1959, he married his wife of 62 years, Betty Moen, in Fertile. To this union, four children were born. Bob and Betty lived most of their married life in Staples.
Bob worked for 20 years as a Conductor on the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was a State Farm Insurance agent and owned and operated several real estate companies in Staples and several other locations.
He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and member of the American Legion. He was active in several other organizations and was President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lori Lee, Kathryn (Bill) Mitchell and Barbara (John) Lee-Budin; one son James (Nyoka) Lee; nine grandchildren, Addison Brown, Joshua Doud, William, Olivia and Noell Mitchell, Noah, Joseph, Isaac and Nyla Lee and three great-grandchildren, Cooper Brown, Sealy Doud and Rocco Cascio.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
Bob was happiest when he could help those in need. He actively supported charitable groups, especially the Staples Food Shelf. He favored his contributions be anonymous, but he could always seem to find many in need.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Staples Food Shelf or Faith Lutheran Church, Staples.
Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
