Renee Graf

Renee Ellen (Borchardt) Scharver Graf, 54, passed away peacefully November 27, 2022, at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice facility after a brief, but strong fight against cancer.

Memorial services will be held December 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Lakeville.

Known to many as “Nay Nay”, Renee was a kind, beautiful, wonderful and amazing mother, nana, daughter, sister, wife and devoted friend to everyone.

Renee was born September 16, 1968, to Glenn Borchardt and Laura (Olson) Borchardt in Shakopee. She grew up in Lakeville and graduated from Lakeville High School in 1986. She loved riding horses growing up. She was the queen of the Jet High Rider Saddle Club and Flying D Saddle Club, earning these titles with her beloved horse, Cheyenne.

Renee met her first husband John Scharver in 1987. They married August 27, 1988 and had two daughters: Alyssa and Andrea. Renee and John were married for almost 25 years, when John passed away July 11, 2013. The couple loved and accepted two of their daughters’ friends, considering them their bonus daughters, Kelsey Callahan and Ashley Canaca.

Renee married Jason Graf on July 17, 2017. They lived in Cedar, together with her dog, Ludo and their cat, Skol. She absolutely loved her grandchildren and would show them off and talk about them any chance she got. Renee was an avid Vikings fan and loved watching football with her family. She had a great time working at the Wild games and at Target Field during different concerts. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, bonfires, vacations and music. She always made the best of her situation and could be counted on. Renee was happiest when she was able to laugh and spend time with her family and friends.

Renee’s memory will be cherished forever by her mother, Laura Borchardt; two daughters, Alyssa (Ryan) Grunwald and Andrea Scharver; seven grandchildren, Axel Scharver, Phoenix Grunwald, Eowyn Nolan, Freya Grunwald, Lillian Dukek, Fiana Grunwald and Zane Dukek; two sisters, Keri Albee and Nikki (Wade) Borchardt; one brother, Mitchell (Ashley) Borchardt; two aunts, Kathy (Scott) Borgh and Ginny (Chris) Hayes; husband, Jason Graf and many, many, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Preceding Renee in death were her grandparents, Edward and Lorraine Tuma and Faye and Walter Borchardt; father, Glenn Borchardt and first husband John Scharver.
