Ramona Van Wey
Ramona “Mona” (Hulett) Van Wey, 85, passed away peacefully June 27, 2026, in St. Louis Park.
Two memorial services will be held for Mona: Sat., July 18, at the Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, at 11 a.m. and Weds., July 22, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Edina, at 11 a.m.
Mona was born to Philip and Hazel Hulett in 1940. She grew up in Leader and graduated from Motley High School in 1958. She attended the U of M graduating with a B.S. degree in 1986. She was an accountant in the food service industry, working in Minnesota and Missouri throughout the span of her career. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; a reader, creator, learner; quick-witted, endlessly patient and incredibly thoughtful.
She is survived by one son, Greg; and one daughter, Kathy; two grandchildren, Tara and Elora; one sister, Hope; seven step-children JD, Julie, Jacci, Jeffrey, Jan, JR and Gaylynn.
Mona is preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord; parents; two brothers Lowell and Gene and one sister, Wilma.
Mona was exceptionally loving and beloved by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her. She was good to her core and will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, Mona’s family asks that donations be made to “Minnesota Public Radio.”
