Patricia Wickham

Patricia Jo (Dailey) Wickham died September 25, 2021, unexpectedly at her home due to health complications.

Funeral services were held Oct. 1 at Casino Assembly of God Church in Pillager with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. 

Her final resting place will be Poplar Cemetery in Leader. 

Patricia (Patty) was born to Laurence and Josephine (Siss) Dailey on December 18, 1962, in Wadena. Patty grew up on a farm in the Leader area. She graduated from Staples High School in 1981 and from Bemidji State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. 

Patty worked most of her life at Lakewood Health System, Staples. She began her career as an LPN and worked her way up to Director of Home Care/Hospice and Palliative Care. After 20 years at Lakewood, she stayed home and helped raise her grandchildren. In recent years, she discovered a love for teaching. She was able to reach students in other countries from the comfort of her own home.

In 2004, Patty married David Allen Wickham. They resided in the Leader area, not far from where she grew up. Patty enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, tending to the lawn and flowers, taking walks and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She embraced anyone that walked through her door and was always referred to as “Grandma Patty” by children who entered her home. 

Patty is survived by her husband Dave; one son, Shawn (Bonnie) White; one daughter Josi Longbottom; five grandchildren, Kassidy White, Jason White, Joshua White, Keith White and Alaina White; six brothers, Robert (Joyce) Dailey, Raymond (Joan) Dailey, Richard (Rosemary) Dailey, Thomas (Debbie) Dailey, Laurence Jr. (Dawn) Dailey, Jack Dailey; three sisters, Carol Dailey, Sandy (Robert) Knoll, Marsha (Mike) Horan; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Dailey and two sisters Linda Swanson and Mary Dailey.

Arrangements were by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
