Mary Lou Hoemberg
Mary Lou Hoemberg, 86, resident of Lakewood Manor Assisted Living in Staples, and formerly of Harmony House in Motley and rural Staples, died November 20, 2021 of congestive heart failure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Aaron Kuhn as celebrant. Family and friends may call at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Mary Lou was born October 30, 1935 to John and Mary (Freund) Hoemberg. She completed eighth grade at the Sacred Heart school in Staples. She ended her education at that time to work on the family farm and was a house cleaner for many families in the Staples area. She enjoyed cross-stitching, rug hooking, gardening, playing cards, Bingo, baking and socializing while enjoying her coffee. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mary Lou is survived by one brother, Lloyd; one sister-in-law, Geneva Hoemberg and essential caregiver - niece, Virginia Olson and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Matt (Pearl), Bernard “Bud”, Edwin (Delona), Leon and baby brother, Anthony; four sisters, Josephine Olinger, Frances (Vernon) Peterson, Rose King and Delores (Harold) Hensel.
Arrangements are by Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
