Marion Braith
Marion Braith, 95, of Motley and formely of Staples, died July 2, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 13, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Father Gabriel Walz officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
Marion was born May 14, 1923 in Bluffton to John and Katherine (Walz) Hammes. She was raised and educated in Bluffton. Marion married Albert Braith on May 5, 1942 in Bluffton. They lived in Verndale and Staples. Marion moved to Harmony House in Motley in 2014. She enjoyed gardening, sewing handmade quilts and was loved by everyone she met. She walked and talked her faith. Marion especially loved visiting with her children.
She is survived by four daughters, Maggie Persons (A.J. Lorie) of Friendswood, TX, Brenda (Jack) Carlson of Grand Rapids, Lori Bell Dooley (Kevin Dooley) of Shoreview and Vera (Mike) Sidders of Detroit Lakes; three sons, Terry Braith of Staples, Randy Braith of Gainsville, FL, Jim (Angie) Braith of Ashland, VA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Vittetoe of Denver, CO and Ione Marchand of the Twin Cities and one brother, Joe Hammes of Wadena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Donald and seven siblings.
