Maria Johanna (Kangas) Regier, 24, of Motley, died unexpectedly September 8, 2016 at her home.
A Memorial Service celebrating Maria's Life will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Gathering of family and friends will take place at the church from 12:00-2:00 pm also on Wednesday.,
Arrangements were with Taylor Funeral Home, Staples.
Maria was born December 21, 1991, in Perham to Howie and Terri (Nagel) Kangas. She was baptized as a child. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary, Perham High School and Minnesota State Community and Technical College where she received her Registered Nursing degree. Her desire to serve and care for people, led to her working in the nursing profession. She married Adam Regier on August 17, 2013 in Hackensack. She began her career as a nurse in Kansas City, MO in August 2014. Maria and her family returned to Minnesota in April, 2015 and Maria went to work at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples as a registered nurse. She was a joyful spirit and loved to make other people happy. She had a special connection with children.
Maria is survived by her husband; one daughter, Ella Maria and one son, Finnegan “Buddy”; her parents and one sister, Erin (Drew) Messner of Carver.
