Linda Stoll
Linda L. Stoll, 67, peacefully went to sleep in her home under hospice care at around 7:30 p.m. on January 26, 2023, following a video chat “goodnight” from three of her grandchildren.
Visitation for Linda Stoll, 67, will be held Wednesday, February 1 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 2 at 11 a.m., at River Valley Church, Dilworth.
Linda Lou (Webster) Stoll was born January 13, 1956, in Bertha, to George and Eleanor (Smith) Webster, the first of five children (there is a half-sister, Karen (Garry) Carpenter and a half-brother, Leland “Butch”).
As the daughter of a lifelong railroad man, Linda lived wherever her dad’s job took the family, including Little Falls, Philbrook, Tilden Junction, Glyndon and Oakes, ND.
She began school in Oakes, where she completed first and second grade. Third through sixth grades were spent in the Philbrook one-room schoolhouse. Linda next attended 7th through 10th grades in Staples, finishing 11th and 12th grades in Glyndon.
Following high school, she attended Moorhead Area Vocational Technical Institute for a one-year clerical course.
Linda married Lloyd Stoll July 13, 1974, and they made Glyndon their home, where they raised three children, Jared (Anne), Fargo, ND, Jamie (Danna), Havre, MT and Katie (Joe) Stano, Shorewood. Linda loved time spent with her 11 grandchildren, Riley, Emmett, Alma, Charlotte, Remington, Millie, Sebastian, Audrey, Poppy, Llewellyn, and her “birthday buddy”, Isaac and most recently her foster grandson as well.
Linda greatly enjoyed crafting - especially ceramics, in which she excelled - receiving awards for a few of her completed pieces. She was an avid reader even when the time came that audio books became necessary.
Linda liked fishing with Lloyd. Throughout the years there were trips to Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Mount Rushmore, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the North Shore of Lake Superior, as well as many other places where numerous family reunions were held.
Linda’s faith and involvement in her church was extremely important to her. She was truly dedicated in all her years of service, including, Missionettes Girls Ministry and later Rainbows Kids Ministry. In addition, she was involved with beginning the church bus ministry - at first using the family vehicle to pick up local college students wanting a ride to church. Eventually when the church purchased a bus, Linda learned to drive that.
There did come a time when, due to declining health, Linda was forced to step back. Even then she helped watch two granddaughters on Sunday mornings while their parents were practicing for leading worship. The time spent with the granddaughters was probably some of Linda’s favorite times.
Linda is survived by her husband Lloyd; three children, Jared (Anne), Jamie (Danna) and Katie (Joe) Stano; 11 grandchildren; her mother, Eleanor Webster; five siblings, Karen, Butch, George, Susie (Mark) Ecklund and Duane (Shannon); plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her dad, George Webster and one sister, Janelle.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Linda’s name to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
