Lillian Smith

Lillian F. Smith, 89, of Motley, passed away February 14, 2023, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. 

Lillian was born April 5, 1933 in Staples to Theodore and Violet (Killian) Dukowitz. She married Melvin Smith on August 26, 1950 in Staples. 

She enjoyed fishing on the lake on a peaceful day and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. 

Lillian is survived by two sons, LeRoy (Cyndee) Smith and Rodney Smith; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Auel and Annette Vesaland; two brothers, Michael Dukowitz and Kenneth Dukowitz. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; parents; one son, Daniel; one granddaughter, Nikki Smith; four brothers, Richard Dukowitz, Ronald Dukowitz, Lawrence Dukowitz and Bernard Dukowitz and two sisters, Donna Etzler, and LaVern Kutzler.
