John Wollenburg
John Wollenburg, 72, passed away August 6, 2025 at CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital following a brave eight-year battle with cancer.
A small private gathering for family will be held.
John was born July 17, 1953 to Esther and Leonard Wollenburg in Long Prairie, the youngest of seven children.
John worked as a machinist for 45 years and was an easy-going person with a loving, tender heart. A lifelong Vikings fan, he enjoyed spending time in the woods, gardening, home improvement, feeding the birds (especially chickadees), playing cards and spending time with Julie, the love of his life and their three dogs. He enjoyed reading, cooking and music, which he passed on to many.
John leaves behind his best friend and wife, Julie; one daughter, Elizabeth; one son, Christopher; two step-children, Josh and Jenna (Graham, son Gannon); three brothers, Karl, Paul (Mary) and George (Ann); one sister, Marie; seven wonderful grandchildren, Katara, Kaden, Colten, Paige, Cambria, Gavin and Ava; brother-in-law, Terry (Nancy); Tom (R.I.P. Sandy); Tim (Robin); four special nieces and nephews, Beth and Steve Roach and Adrienne and Matt.
John was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol; one brother, Bob and ex-wife, Mari-K.
