John Tkalcich
Loving father, grandfather, and husband, John Peter Tkalcich, passed away April 13, 2024 with his beloved wife, Eden, by his side.
Services were held April 20.
John was born the second son of Frank and Mary Tkalcich in Ely. He spent his youth camping, hunting, fishing and exploring the area now called the Boundary Waters. John attended vocational school in Staples and joined the U.S. Army where he worked as a mechanic in Germany.
Upon his return from Germany, he spent time dedicated to raising children and exploring the country in his truck. John left trucking behind in 2006, to refocus on his passion for cars. In 2011, his life changed forever when he married his best friend, Eden. His whole family felt the positive change in his life when they were brought together and she helped him achieve his lifelong personal goal of acquiring a Ford Model A to tinker with. John spent the last few years exploring new roads in two Model A’s he restored with Eden by his side. He also spent quite a bit of time passing a legacy of love for cars, nature and all things mechanical to his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Eden; two sons, John (Natalie) Tkalcich and Kevin Tkalcich; one daughter, Lori (Zacarias Gonzalez) Tkalcich and five grandchildren, Lydia, Alexander, Conner, Zoe and River.
John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Raymond and one granddaughter, Danika Tkalcich.
Arrangements by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
