Joan Brandt

 Joan Bernette Brandt, 80, of Staples, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away November 18, 2021, in Staples. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church. 

Joan was born on July 23, 1941 to Arnold and Jeanette (Mosford) Schuldt in St. Cloud. She was employed in the health care field in Staples. She enjoyed spending time with family, cross-stitching, gardening, yard work, watching kids in sporting events and spending time on the lake. Joan was also a foster grandma at school. 

She is survived by one daughter Carol (Steve) McCarthy and one son, Gerald (Lynn) Brandt; six grandchildren, Tiffany Brandt, Nichole Helquist, Christine Brandt, Jessica Johnston, Brianna Stenvick and Amanda McCarthy; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 sisters and brothers, Gail (Gilbert) Radonski of Crossville, TN, Susan Schuldt of Zion Crossroads, VA, Maynard Schuldt of Plymouth, Rick (Barbara) Schuldt of Farmington, Mary (Richard) Snydle of Bloomington, Jerry (Marcia) Schuldt and Jill (Eduardo) Martinez, both of Clearwater, Bernie (Sharon) Schuldt of St. Augusta, Cindy (Steven) Reinholz of Hibbing, Kevin (Jeanette) Schuldt of Anoka and Linda Dean of Duluth.

Joan is preceded in death by one son, Daniel; her parents and one brother, Harold Schuldt. 

Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
