James Nelson

James Andrew Nelson, 72, of Motley died March 30, 2017 as the result of a tractor accident.

Per his request, there will be no services held.

James was born April 1, 1944 to O’Neil and Eunice (Mix) Nelson in Minneapolis. He married Shirley Abbott on December 13, 1964 in Coon Rapids. The couple moved to Motley in 1971. Jim owned his own construction company building and remodeling houses and log homes. He enjoyed flying and built several of his own airplanes and ultralight crafts.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura Nelson-Janssen, Waite Park and one son, Frank (Tanya) Nelson, Motley; one sister, Sandy (Gordy) Blaha, Minneapolis; one brother, Robert (Tammy) Nelson, Spring Lake Park; two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Christine Brisbin.
