Jack H. Wheeler
Jack H. Wheeler, 95, entered heaven on February 21, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion in Brainerd, 708 Front St., June 14, 2025, from noon to 5 p.m.
Burial will be at the Fort Ripley Cemetery in a private service.
Jack was born June 22, 1929. He grew up in Staples, graduating in 1948. Growing up, Jack was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He played hockey for Staples, helping them earn a slot in the 1945 MN State Hockey Tournament. Jack enlisted and served in Korea with the Army’s 839 EAB 6th Armored Division. Once stateside, he worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Jack found and married the love of his life, Priscilla Jane Harrison, in 1959. They raised their three children in Northeast Minneapolis in a strong Christian home.
Jack’s love of shooting earned him local, state, regional and even national awards in trap and skeet competitions. He also had an intrigue for engine machining and with a boring bar, Jack’s Motor Service began. As Jack’s reputation grew, he outgrew his basement and Jack Wheeler Racing was born. Jack cherished the many life-long friendships from circle track to drag racing; NASCAR to boat racing. Jack and Jane retired up north and added more friendships while living in Cushing, Baxter and Brainerd.
Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Priscilla Jane; one son, Michael (Barb) Wheeler; two daughters, Michelle (Jim) Jeziorski and Mary (Bob) Lein; seven grandchildren, Andrew Wheeler, Elizabeth Julich, Lauren Czarnecka, Jaci Jeziorski, Jordan Lein, Josh Lein and Lexi Lein and five great-grandchildren.
Jack was touched by the many friends and family he had. Until we meet again in heaven, rest in peace, Jack.
