Helen Kimball

Helen Kimball, 75, of Staples, passed away December 9, 2022, at Lakewood Health System in Staples with her family by her side. 

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Helen was born December 4, 1947 to Rufus and Lillian (Makinen) Patson at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids. She was baptized and confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran faith. She graduated from Menahga High School in 1966. On June 3, 1967, Helen married the love of her life, Ron Kimball at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Menahga. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Staples.

Helen was known to be a very lively and energetic person. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and loved to travel. Her highlights were the trips to Egypt and Jerusalem. Helen was a CRA for over 28 years at Lakewood Health Systems. She was Caregiver of the Year in her district and enjoyed helping everyone. Helen loved the holidays and decorating for Christmas. She was always neat and organized and made new friends easily. Helen loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron; two sons, Michael (Jennifer) of Brooklyn Park and Bryan of Winsted; two grandchildren, Herbert and Zachary; two brothers, Ernest (Leatha) Patson of Menahga and Rueben (Sue) Patson of Detroit Lakes; two sisters, Dorothy Walkama of Menahga and Bernice (Jim) Kangas of Menahga and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arnold Patson, Kenneth Patson and Wesley Patson and two sisters, Marlene Patson and Florence Odland.

Arrangements are by Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
