Gerlean Cameron

Gerlean “Gerry” Cameron (Sanders), 69, of Staples, gained her angel wings Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home.

Services were held August 12.

Gerry was born in Grayson County, Kentucky to Willie Judson Sanders and Gracie Rhea Decker Sanders. Gerry’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceeded the quantity of time that she stayed here. She was a light to all that knew her. Gerry was blessed with the gifts of empathy and unconditional love; was a master of being a grandma and loved her grandkids and great-grand kids dearly. Not a day went by where Gerry didn’t talk about how much her children and family meant to her - her family was arguably her most important achievement in life. 

Gerry will be deeply missed by her son, Robert Cameron (or as she liked to call him, Bobby); one step-son, David Harkcom; three grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon and Dylan and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hudson and Porter.

Gerry was preceded in death by the love of her life, Harold.
