Frances Motl
Frances Motl, 95, of Clarissa passed away September 2, 2016 at St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples.
Frances Marie Kasper was born March 10, 1921, to Matt and Cristine Kasper in Swanville. As a child, she and her family moved to Philbrook. She worked as a housekeeper. She married Harold Motl in Wadena on May 17, 1940. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Moran Township until 1979, when they sold the farm and moved to Villard Township. Frances moved to Heritage Place Apartments in Clarissa in 2012. Family was very important to her. Frances was an excellent cook, and volunteered at the food pantry for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, flowers and gardening. She never missed her daily chores on the farm or her daily walk in later years.
Frances is survived by two sons, Duane, of Clarissa and Ron (Linda), of Milnor, ND; one daughter, Darlene (Bill) Bowers, of Midlothian, VA; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Hoemberg and Florence Avery both of Staples and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 13 brothers and sisters and one great-grandson.
