Everett Schmidt

Everett Leo Schmidt, 86, died May 19, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

Mass will be held Friday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of the Epiphany Catholic Church, 11001 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Everett was born March 13, 1936 to Leo and Irene Schmidt in Little Falls. He graduated from Staples High School in 1954. Everett joined the U.S. Navy following high school and served for four years. He married the love of his life, Joann Klein on August 10, 1963 and they resided in Fridley for 50 years. He worked at Onan for 48 years before retiring in 2000. “Grandpa” loved fishing, watching sports and more than anything else, spending time with his family. 

Everett is survived by his wife, Joann, of nearly 59 years; four daughters, Diane (John) Krings, Cindy, Kathy (Jerry) Neu and Amy and one son, John; seven beloved grandchildren, Danny, Mariah, Buzzy, Mitchell, Devin, Isaac and Mikey and two brothers, Jim and Mike. He will be very deeply missed. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jan.
