Douglas Johnson

Private services will be held at a later date for Douglas D. Johnson of New York Mills and formerly of Wadena. 

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, near Bertha.

Doug, age 79, passed away January 13, 2025, at the Vitality Living Center in New York Mills.

Douglas Dwight Johnson was born to Floyd and Blondina (Modrow) Johnson on September 2, 1945, in Bertha. He attended school through the ninth grade but was needed at home to help run the farm.

Doug married Carolyn Peterson in April of 1968. They had two children, Douglas, Jr. and Jennifer. Carolyn and Doug later parted ways.

Surviving Doug are his two children; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; along with two brothers and one sister.

Preceding Doug in death were his parents and one sister.
