Dorothy Cote

Dorothy Fae Cote, 96, of Staples, passed away September 22, 2016, at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Congregational Church, Staples with Pastor Tony Romaine officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. 

Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.

Dorothy was born July 4, 1920 in Tracy to Ben and Eva (Case) Hullopeter. She was united in marriage to Hector (Bud) Cote on September 18, 1944 in Tracy.  Dorothy joined  the Staples Congregational Church in 1953 where she was an active member.

Dorothy is survived by one son, Darrel (Carrie Lyn) Cote of Brooklyn Park; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; four sisters, Marjorie Imker of Lamberton, Darlene Thaxton of Los Altos, CA, Phyllis Swedenburg of Glenwood and Joanne Vandeputte of Marshall; one brother, Gerald (Betty) Hullopeter of New Richland; sister-in-law, Loretta Hullopeter of Hendricks and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Mildred Miller; one brother, Donald; four brothers-in-law and special friend, Myrle Kupitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Staples Congregational Church.
