Donald Dukowitz
Donald Albert Dukowitz, 94, of Staples, passed away at his home November 5, 2018.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home in Staples. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Moran Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Care, Staples.
Donnie was born in Moran Township on July 23, 1924 to Albert and Pauline (Magdziarz) Dukowitz. He attended country school in Moran Township until the eighth grade. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and provided community service projects such as planting trees and building roads. He joined the U.S. Marines when he was 17 and served his county in WWII, where he was stationed in the Pacific Theater. After returning home, he married Mildred Judd in the summer of 1949 in South Dakota. They made their home in Moran Township. Donnie worked as an over the road truck driver most of his life. He was a proud member of the 1,000,000-mile club and was accident and ticket free. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his garden.
He is survivied by nine children, Beverly VanHorne of Sartell, Twylla Wozniak of St. Cloud, Bradley (Cindy) of Staples, Sandra Knosalla (Gary Knosalla) of Staples, Michael (Jane) of Sauk Rapids, William (Karla) of Bertha, Thomas (Cindy) of Swanville, Rebecca (Kevin) Valerius of Crosby and Tony (Jamie) of Staples; one brother, Clifford of Kenosha, WI; 35 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers and sisters.
