Denise Young

Denise Young, 63, of Staples passed away April 14, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on April 24,2021, at the Church of Christ in Staples with Rev. Barry Klein officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the church. Interment will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples.

Denise  was born June 5,1957 to Bertha (Lee) and Patrick Young in Staples. Denise graduated from Staples-Motley High School in 1976 and was a member of the Staples Church of Christ. After graduation, she attended the Staples Vocational Technical Institute in the Commercial Writing class. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime including as a proofreader at the Staples World, working at the Rising Phoenix, housekeeping at the Wadena Inn and was self-employed as a caregiver. She volunteered as an assistant teacher for five years and enjoyed working with children. Denise enjoyed nature walks, gardening and loved her pets dearly. She was a talented artist and will be dearly missed. 

Denise is survived by one brother, Tony (Dorothy) Young,  Staples; two sisters, Gwendolyn (Clarence) Schoon, Sebeka and Marcy Young, Litchfield and one sister-in-law, Judy Young, Staples. She had eight nieces and five nephews.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Toby and Mort Young.

Arrangements were by Taylor Funeral Home in Staples.
