Andrew Granby

Andrew L. Granby, 87, of Staples, passed away peacefully at his home on September 23, 2022. 

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples. Following the service there will be light refreshments and time for visiting.  

Andrew was born to Martin and Clara (Thorset) Granby on November 6, 1934, in Byron Township in Cass County. After completing high school, Andrew went on to work on the family farm. 

He enjoyed a peaceful time in the woods waiting for the big deer to come his way. He was a talented wood craftsman, building things including trucks, tractors, trains and bird houses. He was always tinkering with something and keeping himself busy with ‘word find’ puzzles and enjoyed picking apples in the fall. 

Andrew is survived by one daughter, Ruth (Mike) Robben; one son, Michael Granby; one grandson, Aaron and three sisters, Phyllis, Thea and Clarice. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; one son, Martin; one sister, Esther and one brother, Marvin. 

Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
