Rita Stracek, Browerville, and Frank Leidenfrost, Staples, were crowned the Todd County Outstanding Senior Citizens for 2016. They received their crowns during a special part of the Todd County Council on Aging meeting July 15 at the Todd County Fair. They are now eligible to go to the Minnesota State Fair and represent Todd County as they vie for the state crown. Several speakers briefly addressed the large crowd. The speakers included: Teresa Sorenson, Todd County Veterans Services Office, Mike Wisniewski, Todd County Emergency Management Director on the Code Red alert system and John Knopick on the Foster Grandparent Program. See stories on Stracek and Leidenfrost in next week’s issue.
