A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Staples Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Klein officiating.

Annette Florence (Devine) Crocker was born January 15, 1936 to Kenneth and Evelyn (Elmore) Devine in Breckenridge. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1954. Annette married Gordon Crocker on April 9, 1955 and moved to Oylen where they lived for several years before moving to the Staples area to make their home. Annette had many interests. She enjoyed gardening and was always proud of her flower gardens. She enjoyed reading, Sudoku, learning games on the iPad and having coffee and lunch with her circle of friends she made over the years. She enjoyed volunteering - you could find her collecting tickets at the Staples Auditorium and with the quilters on Wednesdays, although she wasn’t a quilter she provided and set up snacks for the gals. Annette enjoyed traveling and had cruised Hawaii, Alaska, through the Panama Canal and the Western  Riviera. She traveled by land as well as via car, bus and train. If there was a trip planned her bags were packed. Her children and grandchildren/great-grandchildren were her treasures and she enjoyed spending time with them. One of Annette’s proud memories was that she had the privilege of working in all three of the hospitals in Staples; Greater Staples Hospital in town on 6th Street, beginning there as a Nurse’s Aide, transferriing to Ward Secretary and deciding to retire after 30+ years. After being home for three months, she decided that wasn’t for her and she went back to work for another 11 years with the Gastro Doctors in Outpatient, finally retiring for good, making a total of 42 working years.

Annette is survived by two daughters, Ione (Creig) Mertens and Linda (Duane) Hendricks; four sons, Bruce (Maryrose) Crocker, Kevin (Connie) Crocker, Neil (Kathy) Crocker, Darrell (Denise) Crocker; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren with one on the way; many nieces and nephews and friends.

Annette is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents; three brothers, Lowell, Virgil and Donald Devine; two sisters-in-law, Barbara and Carol Devine; two brothers-in-law, Glendon and his wife Yvonne and Richard Gordon.

Annette will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements by the Taylor Funeral Home, Staples.
