Coat donations now accepted

Organizers are preparing for this year’s Great Coat Giveaway and have made some changes in their process. 

People who are interested in donating new or gently used children’s coats can take them to any church in the area. Each church has been asked to designate one person to handle the donations. 

The organizers say that, while adult coats are welcome, by far the greatest need is for children’s coats.

Donations will also be accepted Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Staples Community Center. 

Distribution of the coats will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Staples Community Center. 

The Staples Motley Community Connect event is also scheduled that day from 3-6 p.m. at Staples-Motley High School. This is a resource fair organized by Staples Motley Beyond Poverty that is designed to connect people with local resources that can help.
