SECTION 00 1113 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID(S)
STAPLES-MOTLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL UPDATES
Sealed bids will be received until 1:00 p.m. local time, Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the School District of Staples-Motley, to the attention of Shane Tappe, Superintendent, 905 4th Street NE, Staples, Minnesota 56479 and immediately publicly opened and read aloud, for the Mechanical and Electrical Upgrades project.
The Project consists of mechanical and electrical upgrades at the Staples-Motely Elementary and High School buildings.
Staples-Motley High School: The work includes, but is not limited to the following: removal and replacement of ceilings, structural reinforcement and support pads, replacement of fan coil units with a rooftop unit, replacement of perimeter radiation, addition of variable air volume boxes and variable frequency drives to three existing systems, and replacement of pneumatic controls with digital controls.
Staples-Motley Elementary School: The work includes, but is not limited to the following: replacement of makeup air system at wood and metal shops, replacement of dust collection recovery system at wood shop, new welding/metal shop fume collection recovery system, and improvements to the electrical system at the metals/welding lab. Alternates scopes of work at the Elementary School consist of fire protection sprinkling system and window replacement.
A pre-bid meeting for all interested bidders will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Meet at the Staples-Motley District office, 905 4th Street NE, Staples, MN 56479.
Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bonds and Prevailing Wages are applicable to this Project. All bidders and persons or companies providing a response/submission to the Advertisement for Bids shall comply with the provisions of the statute.
The Owner reserves the right to reject a bid which is in any way incomplete, irregular, or to waive informalities or irregularities in the bid received. The Owner also reserves the right to reject a bid that is within the Owner’s judgment to be in the Owner’s best interest.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after bid opening without written consent of the Owner.

Bidding Documents can be downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $25.00. Planholders are parties that have downloaded the plans and specifications. Planholders will be notified via email as addenda are issued. Parties that download the plans and specifications and need to have them printed are solely responsible for those printing costs.
