Women in Philanthropy accepting grant applications

Women in Philanthropy (WIP) a program of Lakewood Health System, is currently accepting grant applications for programs that focus on physical and mental health of children and youth. Applications must be submitted by Oct. 15, 2016.

The WIP group offers competitive grant dollars to surrounding communities in an effort to support needed health services, community education and preventative health programs and activities that contribute to the quality of life for children and youth in the five-county service area including Todd, Wadena, Cass, Morrison and portions of Crow Wing counties.

The WIP group is made up of area women, who, through donations, hope to positively impact the overall health and wellness of children. Awarded grant funds will ultimately support the mission of the WIP group which is, “Women empowering people, enhancing lives and engaging communities to make our investment count.”

The projects that fit the WIP mission help support healthcare events and wellness programs that impact children. Examples of possible projects that may be funded are: Crisis Line (Yellow Ribbon program - mental health for children), stability balls for the Staples-Motley Elementary School, spiritual care and grief resources for children; and more.

To obtain a grant application, contact Heidi Chapman, Foundation Director at 218-894-8503 or WIP@lakewoodhealthsystem.com.
