Sights and sounds at the Old Wadena Rendezvous

The sights, sounds and flavors of the Old Wadena Rendezvous filled the air on two perfect days, August 13 and 14 at Old Wadena Park near Staples. The park overflowed with sounds of  folk music and performers, artisans, craftsmen, a traditional rendezvous camp by members of the Crow Wing Muzzloaders Club and more. The 26-year event marks the hard times as well as glory days of the park’s establishment as organized and shared by Old Wadena Society members and volunteers.

Above, “Bluegrass and roots music played with virtuostic skills and soul” is the printed description for Brian Wicklund and the Barley Jacks. The group performed Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Old Wadena Rendezvous and Folklife Fest to an appreciative crowd. Their fresh musical flair had parkgoers asking for more.
