Hilltop Regional Kitchen donations
Recent donations have pushed the Hilltop Regional Kitchen Phase I fundraising goal almost to the top. According to Community Planning Manager for Todd County Health and Human Services Katherine Mackedanz, they are at 98 percent of their goal and have an additional $8,500 left to raise for this phase. The project will allow expansion for a new, larger kitchen facility and meeting space for preparation of bundled (frozen) meals and Meals on Wheels delivered to shut-ins, low income individuals and people with health issues in Todd and Wadena counties.

Teresa Fisher from Lakewood Health System presented a $10,000 donation on behalf of the Lakewood Regional Healthy Food Collaborative, a group of about eight organizations that work together to create healthy food alternatives. Accepting the donation are Rick Hest, president of the Eagle Bend Senior Center; Mackedanz; and Verna Toenyan, Todd County Council on Aging coordinator.
