City officials celebrate hotel groundbreaking

“I am impressed with the people of Staples and their can-do attitude,” said Mike Ives at the groundbreaking of the Timberlake Hotel in Staples. The Ives family is building the hotel and naming it after their Timberlake Lodge in Grand Rapids.

Also attending were neighboring business people, bank officials and local well-wishers.
Representatives from Hy-Tec Construction and Widseth Smith Nolting Associates of Brainerd took part in the groundbreaking. From left are Ashley Martel and Mike Angland of WSN, Craig Feierabend of Hy-Tec, Mary and Mike Ives, Steve Dettbarn and Mitch Feierabend of Hy-Tec and Kris and Burl Ives. Mitch Feierabend said many local sub-contractors have been hired to work on the hotel.
