Backing the Blue Line

Supports law enforcement families

Backing the Blue Line - Wives of Minnesota law enforcement members, recently held their 2016 Blue Line Ball April 23, at the Marriott City Center, in Minneapolis with area members attending.

Backing the Blue Line is a non-profit organization of law enforcement wives who support the law enforcement community. Members support injured officers, families of fallen officers and law enforcement families in need.

“This event is one way for members and their spouses to attend a grand event together,” said Tina Maros, Blue Line Ball Fundraising Committee. The raffle and silent auction this year raised over $42,000.

Following the shooting death of Aitkin County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Sandberg in October, 2015, Backing the Blue Line wives provided meals, support and the signature white and blue roses to the family. An Officer Down 5K event will be held, May 21, in Aitkin to benefit the Steven Sandberg Memorial Fund. The Officers Down 5K and BtBL celebrates officers who put their lives on the line daily to keep  communities safe and honor those who have fallen in the line of duty.
