New parking lot at middle school
Installing a new parking lot at Motley-Staples Middle School was one of the summer projects taken on by the school district’s buildings and grounds department. LeRoy Peterson, Building and Grounds Supervisor, said the new one-way parking lot (which is larger) will have its entrance at the south end and its exit at the west end. This should help alleviate blocking of vehicles at the school’s entrance. Pictured above on Aug. 12, Jerry Kobliska (driving skidsteer) works to remove some of the lawn at the middle school while employee Brandon Brusewitz looks on. Pictured in lower photo, Peterson and Kobliska check out the work done earlier that day, including removing the old asphalt, replacing a section of storm sewer and leveling the ground. Later, class five dirt was installed, followed by the new asphalt. (Staples World photos by Dawn Timbs)
