‘Gracie’s Run’ raises nearly $6,000
One hundred and seventeen bikers participated in the eighth annual ‘Gracie’s Run’ July 23, raising nearly $6,000 for the St. Cloud Hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The motorcycle run is named for Gracie Becker who died Feb. 9, 2009, at just seven months old. Gracie, who had health issues since birth, had received a lot of care at St. Cloud Hospital and the family wanted to give back in some way. Pictured in top photo, bikers gathered at Twisted Sisters in Staples, where the ride started. From there they traveled to Pillager, Crosby and Nisswa, before heading back to Staples. A number of children’s activities were held at the stops along the way, with 29 registered children participating. Pictured in lower photo, from left, are Rich and Bonnie Line of Staples, Gracie’s grandparents and organizers of the event; Becky Becker of Staples, Gracie’s mother; Bryan Bauck, Section Director for Family Birthing Services at St. Cloud Hospital; and Joe Becker of Staples, Gracie’s dad.
