Tanya was born September 18, 1975 to Harvey “Lannie” Macheel and Darcy (Rosenkranz) Macheel in Brainerd. She graduated from Staples Motley High School in 1994 and pursued higher education at Concordia College in Moorhead, eventually transferring and graduating from North Dakota State University. She met Mark Erdmann through mutual friends in 1995 and the couple married on September 20, 1997 in Pillager. After graduating from college, job opportunities took Mark and Tanya to Texas and Florida, but they would return to Wisconsin and then to Minnesota for several years, where both their daughters Alyssa and Kayla were born. In 2009 the Erdmann Family returned to Texas and settled in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Tanya had an uncanny ability to easily connect with people, and she developed many lifelong friendships. She had a gift for storytelling with humor that captivated her friends and family. Tanya was the parent who always had a plan and was prepared for whatever activities her daughters had on their busy calendars.
Tanya had a true love of animals except for snakes and spiders. She always joked about getting enough land in Texas for goats and cows. Her other “children,” Dax, the labradoodle, Henry, the sheepadoodle and Bella-the cat were her constant companions, and she loved them unconditionally.
She loved taking the family boat out on local lakes, and she smiled as the family created wonderful, lasting memories. Tanya also enjoyed family vacations, taking her daughters to new places that expanded their worlds.
Tanya is survived by her husband of 24 years, Mark Erdmann; two daughters, Alyssa and Kayla; two siblings, Shawn (Alissa) Macheel and Shae (Kristie) Macheel, both of Motley; parents, Harvey “Lannie” Macheel, Motley, mother, Darcy Rosenkranz, Brainerd, and step-mom, Connie Macheel, Motley; Mark’s parents Melvin and Judy Erdmann, and Mark’s brothers, David (Cynthia) Erdmann, Paul (Abby) Erdmann and Thomas (Ashley) Erdmann.
Tanya was preceded in death by her grandparents and one sister-in-law, Stephanie Coltvet Erdmann.
