Nancy Flett
Nancy Jo (Wolf) Flett, 82, of Arvada, Colorado passed away October 12, 2018.
Funeral services were held Oct. 20, at First United Church of Christ of Arvada, CO with Karin Kilpatrick officiating.
Interment was at Arvada Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home, Arvada, CO.
Nancy was born Sept. 27, 1936 to Theresa (Smith) and William Wolf in Wadena. She grew up in Staples where she was salutatorian of her Staples High School graduating class. She attended the University of Minnesota, earning BA in Business Administration. Nancy married Charles Flett in 1959 and they moved to Renville, then to Colorado. She was a teacher’s aide, Democratic volunteer and ran for political office. She was elected to the Colorado state legislature in 1974-1976. Following her time at the state capitol, she was appointed to be the Jefferson County Public Trustee. She joined the law firm of Fairfield and Woods as a legal assistant with a specialty in real estate. She held a similar position at the law firm of Ireland Stapleton until she retired.
She is survived by one son, Michael, one daughter, Marguerite; sister-in-law Marcia Flett and her daughters; sister-in law Margaret Wilson and her sons; her brother-in-law Robert (Sue) and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Aunt Agnes Smith, Aunt Helen Mills, Uncle Stuart Mills, cousin Hank Mills, two brothers-in-law, James Flett and Galen Wilson.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; St. Jude Children’s Fund.
