Michael Whistler
Michael “Mike” Edward Whistler, 54, of Brainerd died unexpectedly July 2, 2020 at his home in Brainerd.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
Mike was born April 21, 1966 in St. Paul to Vernon and Edna (Jackson) Whistler. He graduated from Oakdale High School and continued his education at Central Lakes College obtaining two associates degrees in computer science. Mike was currently employed at CTC as a purchaser; he enjoyed the challenges of his job and finding ways to improve business. Mike was a music aficionado, electronics enthusiast and had a curiosity for astronomy that was out of this world. He taught his family to laugh, care for one another and stop and listen to the music. Michael was caring, kind-hearted and a brilliant smart aleck. Above all else he loved his family and friends beyond words; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by four siblings, two brothers, Jim and Bob, both of Brainerd and two sisters, Patty (Bob) Taylor of Wichita, KS and Cheryl of Staples and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two dogs, Chika and Chaz; and many aunts, uncles and distant relatives.
