Mary Noska
Mary (Haugen) Noska, 76, of Browerville passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at Lakewood Health System Hospital, Staples.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 27 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch.
Mary was born January 20, 1948 in Minneapolis. She married Dave Noska on November 22, 1969, where they resided in the Twin Cities until 1974, when they moved to Staples. She worked as a beautician and at Don and Dave’s Store until 1995 when she graduated as an Occupational Therapist from St. Kate’s. She went to work at Lakewood Health System Care Center, Staples until she retired in 2018.
Mary was involved in establishing the Barn Quilts of Central MN and belonged to the Staples Motley Arts Council, Faith Lutheran Church, several book clubs, quilting club, blue mat group and very active/social within the Sylvan Shores community, especially the exercise group and coffee club.
She was a crafty lady, always sewing, quilting or doing some fun project. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and kayaking.
Above all, Mary loved spending time with her family and friends. Her laugh was contagious and her personality attracted anyone in her orbit. She had such compassion and cared deeply for others. Mary lived her life with purpose.
Mary will be dearly missed by her husband, Dave; three daughters, Bambi (Jon) Neumann, Aubrey (James) Archer and Wendy Charles; five grandchildren, Ellie and Adam Neumann, Carson Archer, Elizabeth and Karla Villanueva; two brothers, James (Sylvia) Haugen and Dick (Joanne) Haugen; sister-in-law, Diane Hansen; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Lisa Kajer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Solvieg ‘Billie’ Bomsta; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and June Noska.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to LEAP, Barn Quilts of Central MN.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
