Judith Palmer

Judith Marie Palmer, 85, passed from this life and entered the Church triumphant on January 16, 2025, at the Whitefish at the Lakes Senior Living in Crosslake.

Funeral services were held January 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with Pastor Paul Koehler officiating.

Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Judy was born April 11, 1939, to Edward and Mary Hagen. She was baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Judy grew up in Minneapolis with her parents and sister Patrica (Hagen) Feyo.

After graduating from high school in 1957, she attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, where she received her LPN nursing degree in 1959.

Judy was united in holy marriage to Lloyd Ross Palmer on September 19, 1959, at Christ Lutheran Church in Minneapolis by the Rev. Karl B. Stroming.

Judy and Lloyd enjoyed raising their three children Mark, Todd and Diana in Staples where Judy worked with her husband Lloyd running  “Palmer’s Accounting and Tax Service.”

Judy was a faithful and caring wife and was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples. She especially loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing and bowling.

Lloyd and Judy spent many years during the winter months at their home in Mesa, Arizona enjoying the sun, golf and many friends from Minnesota. They enjoyed their time and friends at their summer trailer on Women Lake in Longville.

She will be deeply missed and is survived by two sons, Mark (Beth) Palmer of Bonduel, WI and Todd Palmer of Maple Grove; one daughter, Diana (Joel) Ulring of Crosslake; grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Schimmels, Erica, Isaac, Anna (James) Lana and Abigail; Allie (Chris) Anderson, Jake (Jordan) and Paige; Alicia (William) Shupe, Joshua Ulring and Katlynn (Stephen) Batcher; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Sarah and Hannah Shupe; Teagan, Levi, Corbin and Paityn Ulring; Lola Batcher; Paislee and Hank Anderson; Emerald, Olivine and Joshua Schimmels; many nieces and nephews and one sister, Pat (William) Feyo.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Hagen and husband, Lloyd Palmer.
